STOCKO, a German electro-mechanical and interconnect manufacturer, and Sensible Micro, an American stocking distributor and global sourcing partner, have joined forces to better serve North American manufacturers by providing local customer service support, custom scheduling, and stocking packages. Sensible Micro is now the exclusive distributor for STOCKO products for all of North America.
Headquartered in Wuppertal, Germany, with additional locations in France, Czech, and China, STOCKO was founded in 1901. Nearly 120 years later, while many competitors have long since come and gone, STOCKO remains one of the leading European manufacturers of electromechanical components. Serving the domestic appliance, heating, industrial, LED lighting and automotive industries, STOCKO produces the following products:
- Connector systems
- Custom design solutions
- Crimp contacts
- Solderless terminals
- Stamping parts
- Termination technology
One of STOCKO’s most in-demand components is their connector systems. These products can reduce the number of connectors needed by going to a direct connect system, freeing up valuable real estate on printed circuit boards and saving customers’ money, or by using a standard two PCB header and housing connection system. To get these products into North American customers’ hands with short lead times and low minimum quantities, STOCKO knew it needed U.S.-based warehousing and service. That’s where Sensible Micro comes in.
Sensible Micro is headquartered in a state-of-the-art 20,000 square foot facility in Tampa, Florida. As a quality certified distributor and supply chain solutions partner, Sensible Micro has invested heavily in warehousing, operations, and test facilities to meet the growing demands of loyal OEM & EMS customers requiring the highest levels of quality, component selection, and inventory management solutions.
In an industry plagued by product shortages, long lead times, high minimum orders, and the acceleration of product life cycles and obsolescence issues, STOCKO and Sensible Micro knew a partnership could benefit them both and, even more so, the customers they serve.
“Sensible Micro’s stocking package of common parts allows us to house a lot of product in their facilities, which reduces transportation time from Germany and other overseas plants,” says Ed Powell, STOCKO’s North American Sales Manager.
“Plus, Sensible Micro has a sales force supporting more than 1500 OEM customers in the U.S. It’s really a win/win for both of us, and especially our customers.”
Chris Torrioni, President and Co-Founder of Sensible Micro, agrees.
“By partnering with STOCKO, we’re able to provide our customers with reliable, precision-built, German-quality products that they otherwise may have not had access to due to distance or order minimums.”
