Our Story

For the past 20 years, Sensible Micro has worked tirelessly to build trust and optimize the supply chain for smaller to mid-sized OEMs and contract manufacturers in the electronics industry. We’ve grown a lot since 2005, but we continue to feel that our story — and the story of our thriving industry partners — are just beginning.

2005

The Sensible Micro Corporation is co-founded by Chris and Fred Torrioni, the dynamic son & father duo that are still overseeing operations as our CEO and Senior Vice President today.

2009

Sensible Micro is proud to be recognized on the Inc. 500 list due to the rapid growth we’ve demonstrated over our first four years in operation.

2009

Sensible Micro earns ISO9001 and AS9120 certifications by demonstrating rigorous voluntary compliance with internationally recognized quality management principles including customer focus, leadership, engagement of people, process approach, improvement, evidence-based decision making, and relationship management.

2011

Sensible Micro earns the Tampa Bay Business Journal Fast 50 Award, which celebrates the fastest-growing companies in the Tampa Bay business community.

2012

Sensible Micro builds a brand-new office and warehouse location and launches an industry-leading, state-of-the-art inspection and anti-counterfeit testing lab.

2014

Sensible Micro becomes a Certified Member of the Independent Distributors of Electronics Association (IDEA). This global trade organization of ethically-oriented electronic component distributors strives to improve the quality of products and services in the electronic components industry. Our membership shows our commitment to a sophisticated, continually improving quality management system.

2018

Sensible Micro is recognized as a Small Business of the Year Finalist for the Tampa Chamber of Commerce, among the 2% of chambers in the nation with a 5-star rating by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.

2019

Sensible Micro launches our authorized and factory direct partnership to our existing line card, further expanding the options available to our customers and improving our ability to best serve diverse component needs, quickly, with a high standard of quality.

2023

Sensible Micro earns SAE AS6081 certification, the leading counterfeit detection standard for electronic parts distributors. This certification recognizes our superiority in mitigating the risk of buying, receiving, and selling suspect counterfeit components.

2024

Sensible Micro establishes our Global Supply Chain Team in Singapore and China, putting real boots on the ground for our customers in critical international markets for electronic components suppliers and sourcing.
